Job Description
Post Title: School Sport Partnership Manager
Salary: UPS 1-3 or equivalent
Hours: 0.8FTE / 4 days per week – 52 weeks per year
Line Manager: The Principal


Job Purpose:
To manage and lead North Oxfordshire School Sport Partnership.
To promote and support partner schools to improve the health and wellbeing of ALL young people in their care.


Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning:
1. To provide a well-managed School Sport Partnership (SSP) that offers a clear vision for the future of PE, physical activity and school sport across North Oxfordshire.
2. To manage the production, implementation and evaluation of a partnership development plan that focuses on the needs and health and wellbeing of pupils across the schools.
3. To develop and manage links with strategic partners to ensure the work of the partnership compliments relevant strategies eg health
4. Manage and control all partnership financial and administrative procedures, ensuring the long-term sustainability of North Oxfordshire School Sport Partnership.
5. Identify and attract additional funding to support the development of activity.
6. Raise and maintain the profile of the partnership and its work with local schools, the local community and the media.


School Liaison:
1. Line manage the partnership School Games Organiser.
2. Support and provide functional management to the partnership team of School Sport Coordinators and Primary PE Mentors.
3. Advocate with Headteachers the importance of PE, physical activity and school sport to children's health and wellbeing and attainment and achievement.
4. Facilitate regular networking opportunities for Primary PE coordinators including Development Days.
5. Maintain strong working relationships with secondary PE staff through termly meetings and networking opportunities.
6. Create and share an annual partnership calendar of meetings, events and opportunities for teachers and schools.
7. Provide regular updates and guidance on the implementation of relevant national strategies and initiatives.


Improving Children's Health and Wellbeing:
1. Advocate the importance of daily physical activity for ALL children.
2. Support schools to achieve high quality outcomes for all young people in and through high quality PE, physical activity and school sport.
3. Help schools to understand how high quality PE, physical activity and school sport contribute to school improvement.
4. Develop and maintain a partnership model that actively supports the development and delivery of high quality teaching and learning and the implementation of broad, balanced and engaging programmes of PE.
5. Provide and coordinate on-going professional learning opportunities for school staff.
6. Work with the School Games Organiser to ensure that competition and school sport enhance children's health and wellbeing.


Team Working:
1. To ensure that reasonable care is taken at all times for the health, safety and welfare of yourself and other persons.
2. To work co-operatively with colleagues to achieve the aims and objectives of the post and the school.
3. To participate positively in the implementation of new working methods and practices as required.
4. To undertake other duties within his / her competence or otherwise appropriate to the grading of the post as required.
Personal Development:
1. To work positively and constructively with the line manager to identify strengths and agree an action plan / objectives in relation to development needs, to set these out in a personal development plan, which will be reviewed regularly with the line manager.
2. To be aware of the current national and local issues relating to Education insofar that they affect the post.


Other Specific Duties
1. To be committed at all times to the safeguarding and protection of children and young people.
2. To report any child protection concerns to the designated person in the school / partner schools (please refer to 'Child Protection Policy' on staffroom notice board).
3. During the course of undertaking their duties, all employees will be expected to promote, maintain and uphold fundamental British Values

General
1. Whilst every effort has been made to explain the main duties and responsibilities of the post, each individual task undertaken may not be identified.
2. It is a requirement, in accordance with the guidance of the Catholic Education Service, that staff in Catholic Schools should "have regard to the Roman Catholic character of the school and not do anything in any way detrimental or prejudicial to the interests of the same".
3. Employees will be expected to comply with any reasonable request from a manager to undertake work of a similar level that is not specified in this job description.
4. Employees are expected to be courteous to colleagues and provide a welcoming environment to visitors and telephone callers.

Health & Safety
1. To comply with the school's Health & Safety Policies and undertake risk assessments as appropriate
2. To undergo, if requested, basic First Aid training and update courses
3. Be aware of the responsibility for personal Health, Safety and Welfare and that of others who may be affected by your actions or inactions
4. Co-operate with the Principal / Headteacher and others responsible for Health and Safety on all issues to do with Health, Safety & Welfare
