What is Super 8 Cricket?

BBO Disability Cricket Update-May 2018
Updates on the BBO Disability Cricket provision.
This month we focus on the Super 8 Cricket programme.

What is Super 8 Cricket?
Super 8 Cricket is a pilot programme running across the BBO region, aiming to embed disability cricket within club settings. The hope is that we create greater sustainability in the disability cricket provision which will in turn supplement the other disability cricket delivery happening across BBO. When a person has been part of the amazing disability cricket sessions that happen in schools, day centres etc and they ask where they can continue playing cricket, we want to be able to give them a choice of locations that they could do this in.

What does it look like?
• Fun, soft ball cricket sessions for people with varying disabilities, difficulties and conditions.
• Run in club settings across Berks, Bucks and Oxon.
• Aim to provide a relaxed environment where people are able to engage in physical activity where fun is the main aim.
• A chance for people to get to know others.
• Open age sessions.
• Participants can attend on their own or with support. We actively encourage those supporting to take part!
• Super 8 Centres will be provided with an ECB branded Super 8 Kit Bag as well as polo shirts and hoodies for the activators.
• Some Super 8 centres will be running at the same time as other club sessions. The aim of this is to boost social inclusion and increase awareness of disabilities.
• The sessions are FREE!
