Active Bucks Older Adults Project Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Active Bucks Older Adults Project Manager
ORGANISATION: Adventure Learning Charity
DEPARTMENT: Active-In Sports Development
LOCATION: Offices currently based in Aston Clinton, Buckinghamshire with regular contact time
required with the contractor – Leap, the County Sports Partnership for Buckinghamshire. However,
flexible working is available and encouraged to reduce our carbon footprint.
REPORTS TO: Project Director


HOURS, PAY AND BENEFITS:
 Monday – Friday with some evening and weekend work required
 40 hours per week
 Start date of contract: July 2018 – to be negotiated
 End date of contract: July 31st 2019 (with possible extension subject to funding)
 Salary range: £25,000 - £30,000
 30 days annual leave (inclusive of Bank Holidays)

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:
To implement a comprehensive programme of targeted activities aimed at inactive and low-active
residents, aged 65+ years old, across the County of Buckinghamshire (with a specific focus on the
Wycombe and Aylesbury Vale district areas).
DUTIES:
Coordination Duties
 Create and implement a full programme of physical activity provision for residents of Bucks,
specifically focusing on those aged 65+ years old
 Include elements of strength and balance within 50% of the activities provided
 Work with each of the 19 Local Area Forum (LAF) areas throughout Bucks
 Support each activity for a minimum of 24 weeks to build sustainability
 Analyse and evaluate data from each session to calculate sustainability

JOB DESCRIPTION: ACTIVE BUCKS OLDER ADULTS PROJECT MANAGER

 Source and meet with providers of new activity sessions
 Ensure each provider is certified and appropriate to deliver the sessions
 Write Service Level Agreements for each provider to ensure accountability and financial risk is
managed appropriately
 Target activities at currently inactive and low-active residents
 Create a full and comprehensive marketing approach, suitable to the target audience, for each
activity within a budget set by the Project Director
 Submit a monthly data dashboard and an overall project report document to share with partners
 Ensure all data is updated onto the software system each week in accordance with the project
funding agreement

Customer Service
 Provide excellent customer service to all members and guests, dealing with their requests and
enquiries in a timely and professional manner;
 Promote and inform appropriate activities and products to all participants;
 Build strong participant relations through consistent and professional customer engagement;
 Maintain a knowledge of the organisations membership systems, including unique selling points
and, where appropriate, educate participants on local offers to expand their physical activity levels;
 Encourage feedback on services provided and recognise the changing needs of the services
provided
Administration Duties
 Responsible for the health and safety checks for each and every provider of activity within the
Active Bucks programme;
 Proficient use of computer systems allowing for quick and efficient customer service;
 Understand and be familiar with upcoming events to maximise communication opportunities;
 To cross reference all credit and sterling related transactions with the finance team;
 To ensure all financial transactions are carried out in accordance with financial processes and
procedures and to report any discrepancies or concerns to the Project Director;
 Work as part of the team to maintain a high standard of service at all times, in accordance with the
Bucks County Council / Active-In / Leap image and brand;
 Any other duties as may be reasonably requested in order to ensure satisfactory performance
within the role
